Château Marquis d'Alesme
Margaux — 3ème Grand Cru Classé 1855
At the heart of Margaux lies an extraordinary estate where centuries of Bordeaux tradition meet a distinctly contemporary vision of luxury.
Château Marquis d'Alesme dates back to the 16th century and was recognised as a Third Grand Cru Classé in the historic Bordeaux Classification of 1855.
The Perrodo family acquired the estate in 2006 and embarked on an ambitious transformation of both vineyard and winery.
Today, Marquis d'Alesme combines meticulous winemaking, an exceptional 15-hectare terroir and an unmistakable visual identity inspired by the meeting of East and West.
It is one of the most distinctive estates in Margaux.

Tasting notes
Château Marquis d'Alesme is a refined, Cabernet-driven Margaux combining power with remarkable elegance.
The bouquet typically reveals floral notes alongside blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry, complemented by subtle spice.
On the palate, the wine has impressive depth and a polished texture. Fine, structured tannins support the dark fruit while freshness and minerality keep the wine precise and balanced.
Hints of black pepper and spice develop towards a long, persistent finish.
It is a wine built to evolve beautifully with time while retaining the finesse and aromatic elegance characteristic of Margaux.
Food pairings
Excellent with premium cuts of beef, roast lamb, duck, venison and other game.
Its structure and complexity also make it an excellent partner for truffle dishes and mature hard cheeses.
Suggested serving temperature: 16–18°C.
Decanting is recommended for younger vintages.
Vinification & Ageing
Grapes are carefully harvested and selected before being vinified plot by plot in wooden, stainless-steel and concrete vats.
The wine is then matured for approximately 16–18 months in French oak barrels, with the proportion of new oak adapted to the vintage.
The entire process is designed around precision and gentle handling of the fruit.
A Grand Cru becomes an experience
Marquis d'Alesme is more than a prestigious Bordeaux wine.
The estate has deliberately created a world around the wine in which architecture, gardens, craftsmanship and winemaking come together.
Asian influences have been incorporated into the château's architecture and design, with dragon imagery, moon gates and other references to Eastern culture existing alongside the traditional architecture of Margaux.
This is not simply decorative.
It expresses the cosmopolitan identity that has been associated with the estate for centuries and today reflects the Perrodo family's own international outlook.
The result is a château unlike any other in Bordeaux.
A spirit of haute couture
The team at Marquis d'Alesme approaches wine almost as a haute couture creation.
Work in the vineyard is highly detailed and adapted plot by plot.
During harvest, grapes undergo meticulous selection before the different vineyard parcels are vinified separately.
Each element is allowed to develop before the final blend is created.
This attention to detail produces a wine with both concentration and finesse — powerful enough to age for many years, yet always focused on balance and elegance.
We selected
Château Marquis d'Alesme
because
Marquis d'Alesme represents an exceptional combination of heritage, quality and individuality.
Its status as a Third Grand Cru Classé places it among the historic classified growths of Bordeaux, but what attracted us most is that the estate does not rely on classification alone.
There is genuine ambition behind the wine.
From the meticulously managed 15-hectare vineyard to the architecture and extraordinary attention to detail in the cellar, Marquis d'Alesme has created its own interpretation of contemporary Bordeaux luxury.
We also find its dialogue between European and Asian culture particularly fascinating.
For NJORDVIK, Château Marquis d'Alesme represents both the heritage of great Bordeaux and a more modern, international vision of what a luxury wine estate can be.
