Château Labégorce

Margaux — Bordeaux

Château Labégorce is one of the historic wine estates of Margaux, with records of the property dating back to 1332.

Located along the famous Route des Châteaux and neighbouring some of the most celebrated vineyards in Bordeaux, Labégorce combines an exceptional location with almost seven centuries of history.

The Perrodo family acquired the estate in 1989 and began an ambitious programme to restore both the property and its vineyards.

An important part of that vision was to reunite the historic Labégorce vineyards, which had been divided over the centuries. Since the 2009 vintage, the reunited terroir has once again been expressed through the Grand Vin of Château Labégorce.

Today, the estate covers around 70 hectares of vines and produces a classic yet generous expression of Margaux.

Tasting notes

Château Labégorce combines the elegance expected from Margaux with a generous, fruit-driven character.

The wine typically opens with expressive aromas of ripe red and dark berries, accompanied by subtle floral and spice notes.

On the palate, it is rich and harmonious without becoming heavy. Fine tannins provide structure while freshness gives the wine balance and energy.

The finish is smooth, refined and persistent, making Labégorce both enjoyable in its youth and capable of developing further complexity with bottle age.

Food pairings

Excellent with roast beef, lamb, duck, game dishes and slow-cooked meats.

It also pairs beautifully with mushroom dishes and mature cheeses.

Suggested serving temperature: 16–18°C.

Vinification & Ageing

The grapes are vinified in temperature-controlled vats with careful plot-by-plot selection.

The wine is matured in French oak barrels, with the proportion of new oak adjusted according to the vintage to preserve the fruit, finesse and individual character of the wine.

A wine from the heart

For the Perrodo family, Labégorce is much more than a vineyard.

It has been their family home and an important part of their lives since 1989.

Over the decades, their ambition has been not simply to improve the wine but to restore the harmony of an historic estate that had been divided into separate properties.

That long-term vision can now be seen throughout Labégorce — in the vineyards, the winery and the wines themselves.

The result is a Margaux with a strong identity: expressive fruit, elegance, complexity and finesse.

We selected

Château Labégorce

because

Château Labégorce offers something we particularly value in Bordeaux: history and prestige without losing approachability.

Its location places it among some of the greatest terroirs of Margaux, while its wines combine depth and complexity with generous fruit and fine tannins.

We also appreciate the long-term commitment of the Perrodo family, who have spent decades rebuilding and reuniting this historic estate.

For us, Château Labégorce represents a very attractive introduction to serious Margaux — elegant enough for experienced Bordeaux drinkers, yet accessible enough to be enjoyed by a much wider audience.
